About Us

     Welcome to the Rainbow Community: An inclusive extension of the Rainbow Sisters Club of Leisure World Seal Beach.

    OUR ROOTS: Officially recognized by the Golden Rain Foundation in 2014, the Rainbow Sisters Club was founded to provide a warm, supportive space for the lesbian women of Leisure World. Under the dedicated leadership of Ms. Geneva and Ms. Linda, the club continues to flourish by fostering a sense of belonging among its members.

    EXPANSION: As our community has grown and evolved, we recognized the need to expand our reach and create a more inclusive environment that celebrates diversity in all its forms. In mid-2024, the Rainbow Community was born to provide activities for our larger LGBTQ family.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF 2025: Highlights included a collaboration with the Long Beach LGBTQ Center for a dance party;  a summer BBQ; a men's brunch to foster connection with other guys; a streamed VOX Femina concert; a hike at the Bolsa Chica wetlands; fundraising at two swap meets that turned item donations into big wins; a docent-led tour at the Bowers Museum, a theater outing to the Gem Theater in Garden Grove, and a fabulous Friendsgiving feast. 

 

Monthly potlucks were pure magic, with everyone bringing dishes from cherry Jello to giant smothered burritos, trifle and more.  Weekly scheduled walks burned off the potluck calories.

    MEMBERSHIP: In 2025, membership grew to 117 members, and continues to grow. Membership is free. While we don’t charge dues, donations are greatly appreciated, helping us to continue to host events and activities that bring our community closer together.
